I felt disheartened when government reported IMF bailout - Kweku Baako

The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has communicated his mistake with the public authority's choice to select an IMF program.


The eminent media expert says the move doesn't make one pleased to be a Ghanaian.


Despite the fact that he lets it out is the right of the public authority to do as such, he felt exceptionally disheartened when he heard the news.


"I've generally experienced issues with the IMF and let me the genuine with you; while it is the right of the public authority to decide on that, I felt frustrated. I recollect in 2015, I felt the same way despite the fact that I openly said it was the right of the public authority to put it all on the line yet unfortunate same with 2009.


As indicated by Mr Kweku Baako, he generally gets that feeling whenever past states went to the Bretton Woods' foundation.


He added that the nation has all the earmarks of being rehashing similar slip-ups each time it takes a program from the Fund.


"Thus, it not sufficient and we can't keep going around and around and each time we take a program, we seem to have prevailed with regards to carrying out the program and inside three to four years, we are starting over from the beginning, it doesn't check out. It doesn't make you a glad Ghanaian," he said on Metro TV on Thursday, July 7.


Government has proactively initiated dealings with authorities of the Fund.


The Fund's authorities are driven by the Mission Chief for Ghana, Carlo Sdralevich as the destiny of Ghana's monetary future is postponed for conversation in the midst of shout from general society over the consistently inflating cost for many everyday items.


The Finance Ministry prior uncovered that the commitment will be a 7-day movement with the IMF authorities, government's Economic Management Team and the Presidency.
